Find you unique escape in the world of mixed media artistry!
My passion for all things creative began at secondary school when I was studying Art & Design and researching Leonardo da Vinci as part of my G.S.C.E. Art is so healing and therapeutic, and that was the case in my teens and still to this day! With a background working in the Outdoor Media Industry in London and now living in beautiful Dorset, there are so many sources of inspiration to seek and find.
In 2020 when lockdown started, I needed to find a hobby to help pass the time and one which I could learn new skills. This was the catalyst for me to experiment with acrylic pour paint, of which was so much fun! Over the years I have created bespoke pieces of acrylic pour abstract artwork. When I looked at each individual piece I saw different objects, like animals or flowers. Take a look at the gallery and let me know what you see.
With new found confidence, I decided to try stencil art, and found an Amy Winehouse stencil in my craft cupboard. I created two bespoke pieces and sold them both a few weeks after completing. Just goes to show you that you are never too old to learn something new! As a Cricut Explore 3 owner, I enjoy making one-off custom stencils from images I create using AI Apps or Canva. I have lots of arts and craft stock at home, which is beginning to look more like an aisle in Hobbycraft!
I love being a Mixed Media Artist and Cricut Crafter, developing new products and creating bespoke pieces of art, which I find very cathartic. As a disabled entrepreneur living with Fibromyalgia, I find solace in starting from scratch - on a blank canvas, a new project in Cricut Design Space or creating social media and website content in Canva.
Sourcing household items, like wooden picture frames or fabric flowers, to add a unique look. With the myriad of products and colours on the shelving unit - spray paints; acrylic pour paints; crackle effect paint; paint pens and Cricut Vinyl, provides endless opportunities to use my imagination and take time out from the chaos to find calm.
